by Sandi Panda       Comments: 0       on Mar 9th, 2014

WOW.

I’d just like to say, thank you to all our readers and followers, as well as Genesis over the past year that visited I heart Genesis! Your support as fans of Genesis means a lot, and that’s the sole purpose of this site – to provide fans with up to date Genesis information and media! I know there are still parts of the gallery that’s missing, but I’m trying my best to fill up all the holes here and there. It’s mainly complete, with the exception of a few old movies that’s been hard to get my hands on a decent quality!

It’s been a wonderful year with y’all and cheers to many more to come :)

Genesis Rodriguez to Join Topher Grace in Blumhouse’s Thriller ‘Home’

by Sandi Panda       Comments: 0       on Feb 21st, 2014

Dennis Iliadis is directing the supernatural movie, which Jason Blum is producing with Graham King, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Killoran

“Identity Thief” actress Genesis Rodriguez has signed on to join Topher Grace in Blumhouse Productions’ supernatural thriller “Home,” which will Universal will distribute under its first-look deal with Jason Blum’s production company, TheWrap has learned.

Dennis Iliadis (the 2009 “Last House on the Left” remake) will direct from a script by Adam Alleca.

Grace will play a man who inherits a mansion from his deceased parents and starts to suspect it is haunted after a series of disturbing events.

Patricia Clarkson is currently in negotiations to co-star in the film, which boasts a quartet of A-list producers: Jason Blum will produce for Blumhouse alongside Graham King, Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Killoran.

Rodriguez drew Hollywood’s attention with recurring roles on the popular soap opera “Days of Our Lives” and HBO’s “Entourage” before landing a supporting role in the star-studded crime film “Man on a Ledge.” She built up a steady stream of studio credits with films like Lionsgate’s “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” and “The Last Stand,” as well as the Spanish-language comedy “Casa de mi Padre,” in which she played Will Ferrell’s love interest.

Rodriguez, who recently starred opposite Paul Walker in the Hurricane Katrina drama “Hours,” recently wrapped Kevin Smith’s horror movie “Tusk” and WB’s action-thriller “Run All Night,” which stars Liam Neeson and Joel Kinnaman and hits theaters this fall.

She’s repped by CAA, DePaz Management and Jackoway Tyerman.

Hours actress Genesis Rodriguez on her fledgling film career

by Sandi Panda       Comments: 0       on Jan 11th, 2014

In a city where doublespeak is the lingua franca, LA womanGénesis Rodríguez is refreshingly candid. “I don’t really care if people think I’m good-looking or not; it doesn’t define me as a person,” says the 26-year-old actress. “I’d rather just be the girl who likes to eat a lot of food.” Such forthrightness sometimes gets her into agua caliente. “I’m an open book and, well, people can get offended by that…” Equally, that self-assurance is why 2014 is very likely to be her year.

The daughter of a Cuban model and a Venezuelan lounge singer known as “El Puma”, Rodríguez – “La Pumita” – was born in Miami and earned her stripes on Spanish-language soap operas, before coming to the world’s attention in a “completely gratuitous” underwear scene in 2012′s Man On A Ledge. Roles in Will Ferrell’s Casa De Mi Padre and Arnie’s The Last Standswiftly followed. Next up is Hours - think The Impossible meets Crank - in which Paul Walker struggles to keep his newborn baby daughter alive in a deserted hospital devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

“I’m the wife,” Rodríguez explains. “I die in the first couple of minutes.” So why did she fight so hard for the role? “It’s such an intense movie. Every time Paul thinks about me, it’s happy thoughts, beautiful thoughts, that really keep him going…” We can’t say the sensation in entirely unfamiliar.

Although she’s used to being “the kick-asser, not the kick-assee”, Rodríguez will then play a pregnant mother in peril in the hitman thriller Run All Night, co-starring Liam Neeson and Ed Harris.

“I posted a picture on Twitter of my fake pregnant belly and people were losing their minds, bitching me out,” she says. “I was like, ‘Hold on a second guys!’, but they were just having a shit-fit, their worlds were crushed!”

Quite what they’ll make of her forthcoming Tusk, a Kevin Smith horror in which Justin Long is forced to dress up as a walrus, is anyone’s guess. “This is the most crazy, messed-up – excuse me, f***ed up – movie I could be in,” says Rodríguez with glee. Frankly, we wouldn’t expect anything less.

Hours on Movies on Demand

by Sandi Panda       Comments: 0       on Dec 18th, 2013

Thanks to one of our anonymous readers for sharing this information with me, I decided to post it up for everyone. The new film, Hours” starring Genesis Rodriguez and Paul Walker will be available via Movies On Demand on December 13, 2013.

Some of these titles are available for a month or more but we don’t want fans to miss the opportunity to watch. In case you were wondering, Movies On Demand is a paid service and you pay per film, rather than a monthly or yearly fee. It’s a pretty great viewing platform because some of the films are exclusively released on MOD first before it appears in movie theatres.

I will also be uploading screencaps of Genesis from Hours shortly in a few days, so stay tuned!

Genesis Rodriguez On Paul Walker’s Death: Latina Opens Up On Her ‘Hours’ Co-Star Two Weeks After He Passed Away

by Sandi Panda       Comments: 0       on Dec 17th, 2013

Genesis Rodriguez had kept mum on her social networks following the death of her “Hours” co-star, Paul Walker. Her Twitter account had been updated with a smiley face on November 30th, the day Walker died in a horrific car accident, but was soon deleted in the hours following the news. Paul’s “Fast and Furious” co-stars were quick to express their sentiments on the wake of the devastating event. Genesis, who was scheduled to do press rounds with Walker in support of their upcoming film together had not given a public statement until today. ”Although I only knew Paul for a short time, his compassion for others and positive outlook on life were an inspiration,” she wrote on her WhoSay account. “His smile could brighten any day. He will be remembered for the beautiful mark he left on the world. Rest in peace my friend.”

Paul Walker and Genesis Rodriguez star in “Hours” that is set in 2005, during Hurricane Katrina. Nolan (Walker) is the father of a newborn baby, and what should be one of the happiest days of Nolan’s life quickly spirals out of control during the wake of a hurricane that floods the hospital and causes failures in the power supply, Nolan faces a life-or-death situation when no one returns to help and struggles on his own to keep his infant daughter alive inside a Neonatal incubator, as minute-by-minute passes, the incubator runs out of power and the minutes become long hours. ”I never knew it could be like that, there was no differentiation between what was real and what was fake,” he told Fandango in an interview. The film was released in the U.S. onDecember 13 in select theatres and on-demand.

The “Fast and Furious” actor was laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood with Michelle RodriguezTyrese Gibson and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges in attendance. Walker’s death certificate was released and confirms that the actor died from the “combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries,” according to E! News. An investigation is still undergoing to find details on what exactly caused the accident.

Kevin Smith’s ‘Tusk’ to Hit Theaters Fall 2014 Via A24, Demarest Films

by Sandi Panda       Comments: 0       on Dec 10th, 2013

The modern-day monster movie stars Justin Long, Michael Parks, Genesis Rodriguez and Haley Joel Osment

A24 and Demarest Films have teamed up on Kevin Smith’s modern-day monster movie “Tusk,” which A24 will release wide in the third quarter of 2014, the distributor announced Tuesday.

“Tusk,” which stars Justin Long, Michael Parks, Genesis Rodriguez and Haley Joel Osment, was born out of one of Kevin Smith’s immensely popular SModcasts. Smith also wrote the film, which is currently in production.

“Tusk” stars Long as a journalist who finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.

Demarest’s Sam Englebardt and David Greathouse are producing with Shannon McIntosh.

“We had the privilege of visiting Kevin on the ‘Tusk’ set and seeing some of his early footage. We can say with certainty that this movie will blow people’s minds. Truly one you’ll have to see to believe,” said A24.

“I’m as happy as the day Miramax bought Clerks back in ’94! We’re so lucky A24 fell in love with our walrus picture and jumped in the pool with us. I was a big fan of how they released ‘The Bling Ring’ and ‘Spring Breakers,’ so I was praying ‘Tusk’ would take root there. If anyone knows how to bring this flick to the masses, it’s them!” said Smith.

“We’re thrilled that A24 has joined us in backing Kevin’s wild, deviant vision. ‘Tusk’ will be a horror movie for the ages and we couldn’t imagine a better partner in bringing it to the world,” added Englebardt.
